Rinnai Infinity A Series PCB Board Installation

The video will show the step by step procedure of installing the Rinnai Infinity A Series PCB Board. Please be guided accordingly

  • Keeping the packaging up to the side make sure you keep the manual so you can give it to the client later on and place the unit on flat surface where you can work comfortably.
  • Use a Philips screw driver and remove 4 screws holding the front panel on. There is one on each corner.
  • Unpack the PCB board, be careful with it because it’s electronic, you’ll see that there are 5 ports that we will be connecting. They are all in a different shape.
  • Find 5 different wires on the unit that you will be connecting and notice that there is a pin at the bottom of the board that locks the PCB into the unit itself.
  • Find the correct set of wire and plug them into the corresponding ports on the control board. You can’t really get this wrong because they will only fit one way as they are all different shapes. If they don’t fit, DON’T force them and try another.
  • Now carefully drop the PCB into place and push the pin into the unit itself. You’ll see that it will lock it by going through the galvanized steel at the bottom of the device.
  • There is one more screw that you need to put on to keep the board secure inside the unit. You can ee that here. Use an appropriate tool so as to avoid hitting any cables or scratch the PCB.
  • Put the front board back on and put all 4 screws back in place with your driver. Be careful don’t over tighten Once you completed these, you’re pretty much good install the unit. Job complete.

Please make sure that once you have installed the unit you strictly follow the manufacturer’s commissioning instructions. Only attempt this PCB installation if you are qualified and competent to do so. Hot Water Cylinders NZ do not take any responsibility for following instructions within this video.

How to Buy Hot Water Cylinders Online

Online shopping is now a huge part of the new norm. More and more customers prefer to shop online because of convenience plus the larger selection of items they can choose from.  However, there are still some folks who have a hard time figuring out if online shopping works for them. This is especially true for those who need to purchase home equipment such as hot water cylinders.

In most cases, buyers looking for hot water cylinders prefer to head over to their favourite shops to check their options. But, in truth, it’s very much possible to shop for such items online. And it’s quite simple to do so. Check out the short online shopping guide for hot water cylinders.

Buying trusted brands

The first thing you need to do when shopping online for specialised items such as heat pumps and hot water cylinders is to look for trusted brands.

Look for water heating equipment brands that are tried and tested by customers, that way you get the best value for your money. A good way to assess a brand’s credibility is doing a quick research online. Find out what customers say about them. Are they getting legitimate positive reviews? Do people say negative comments about the quality of their products.

Check their web presence too. The majority of established companies that offer hot water cylinders and other water pump equipment have a strong online presence both in their website and social media. They also provide detailed descriptions of their product features and even troubleshooting guides.

Some of the best water heating system brands in the market include:

  • Greenglo
  • Dux
  • Rinnai
  • Rheem
  • Paloma
  • Chromagen

Long standing reputation

Besides checking the brand of the product, you should also look at the credibility and reliability of the shop. Find out how fast can they deliver the product? Do they provide an installation service? How about their orders and returns policy? Have you heard of customers complaining about a product they received?

It’s also crucial to read a shop’s shipping policy. Find out how long it takes for the shop to deliver an item. Which couriers do they use? Do they have their own courier? Do they offer international shipping? Is it possible to track your order?

Make sure to check everything about the shop before you complete a transaction. This way, you can set your expectations and find a seller that can meet your demands.

What to look for when buying hot water cylinders online

Water cylinders and heating systems are considered as highly critical appliances used in homes. Choosing the right one can mean a lot for you and everyone else living in your house. So, here’s a quick breakdown of everything you need to consider when shopping for a hot water cylinder online:

  • The cylinder’s water holding capacity – Typically, water heating cylinders can hold around 45 to 500 liters. There are also modern models that have a higher water holding capacity. When considering the water holding capacity of cylinder, you need to have a rough estimate of the peak water usage of your household.
  • The energy source of the heater – Water heaters can either powered by electricity, solar power or gas. It can be expensive to switch from one power source to another, so you need to figure out which option works best for you before you shop.
  • Drain valves – Check the product description to see whether the heating cylinder comes with brass or plastic drain valve. As much as possible, you should stay away plastic valves because they tend to wear out faster.
  • Product warranty – Like in buying any product, you need to check the warranty period. In most cases, water heating cylinders come with product warranties lasting anywhere between 3 to 12 years.
  • Main pressure vs Low pressure – Unvented or main pressure systems deliver hot or cold water to the outlets at a consistent pressure. Low pressure systems on one hand can come in two types. The first one makes use of pressure-reducing water valves to minimise the pressure coming from the main water source. The other one makes use gravity to feed water from the header tank to the storage water tank.

Thermann 26L Continuous Flow LPG Water Heater Review

Starting in 2012, it is no doubt that Thermann has become one of the fastest-growing hot water brands in both Australia and New Zealand. Thermann has identified only the best hot water technologies and has designed a range of systems that continue to be trailblazers in the hot water market. This makes Thermann water heaters the #1 choice for more and more plumbers across New Zealand.

Thermann stays true to its passion and mission to provide only the best quality of products with its continuous flow hot water systems, helping households and establishments all around.

Why Thermann Could Be For You

Continuous flow hot water systems utilize the flow of water, providing a continuous stream at the temperature you desire, without having the extra baggage of storage! One great advantage of this type of hot water system is that it only utilizes energy when you need heat, making it immensely efficient and can help you with cutting costs, especially during the cold season. Thermann’s latest range of continuous flow units is the perfect option and addition to New Zealand homes, catering to your personal needs.

As Thermann’s gas continuous flow water heaters heat the water only as you need, it becomes more environmentally friendly, reducing energy usage. This also helps you save more on your electricity bills. This characteristic and its usage technology gives it a 6-star energy rating, making Thermann’s gas continuous flow water heaters one of the most energy-efficient and affordable instant hot water systems on the market.

Aside from being energy-efficient, continuous flow water heaters also occupy less space because there is no need to accompany it with hot water storage units, which are the ones used traditionally. Its compact design allows it to be mounted on your wall, saving space with a small footprint. It can also act as a standalone system or can be used with other types of renewable technology.

Temperature controllers can also be installed to these units to accurately deliver required water temperatures to your faucets.

When you choose Thermann, you will be enjoying plenty of benefits such as:

  • Space saver – as it can be mounted on your wall with a small footprint only.
  • Heat water only as needed, so you will never run out of water.
  • Help cut energy costs by heating water only as needed.
  • Controllers may be installed to achieve the accurate water temperature you need ( which also helps children and elderly users).
  • Available in NG or LPG.
  • It comes in a variety of capacities.

Like with all continuous flow hot water systems, in some instances you need to be aware that:

  • There may be a need to upgrade your gas pipe, which may add up to your upfront costs.
  • A small amount of water ( approx. 1-2 liters) is wasted upon initial delivery.
  • You may notice a reduction in mains pressure when when high volumes of water are used.

These are things that you must consider when choosing which of the Thermann continuous flow hot water system units you chose. Not sure? Ask us for advice!

Some factors that will play a role in what size unit you need.

How Many Bathrooms Does You Have at Home?

When turning on the hot water tap, Thermann’s continuous flow gas hot water system is immediately put into action to supply hot water. However, heavy usage can occur in your home and Thermann acknowledges that. These moments arise during the mornings, when everybody is scrambling to take a shower, hence using more than 1 at a time. This can also happen when you have guests over. When choosing a continuous flow gas hot water, it is important to keep in mind your household and select the correct size.

More bathrooms will require you to purchase and install a larger system that can deliver more, an example of this will be the Thermann 6 Star Continuous Flow at 26 ( twenty-six) Liters.

Which Thermann Continuous Flow Gas Hot Water System Is the One for You?

With homes having 1 or 2 bathrooms only, the  Thermann 6 Star Continuous Flow at 16 liters or at 20 liters is suitable but you can always get a larger model to have more capacity in future, checking the price differnce is sometimes worth it. If you have 2-3 bathrooms in your household, a larger continuous flow hot water system will come in handy, such as the Thermann 6 Star Continuous Flow at 26 Liters.

Homes with home spas or bathtubs are recommended to purchase the Thermann 6 Star Continuous Flow at 26 liters or Thermann C7 Continuous Flow, which is available at 26 liters (higher demand). These units can cater to the biggest amount of water for your needs.

Installing your unit closer to the hot water tap/outlet to be used will be efficient in transporting the heated water to the fixture you are using, limiting the time it needs to travel from the source.

Other Accessories Needed

Installing Thermann Continuous Flow Hot Water Systems in enclosures will help protect the unit. Universal Continuous Flow Controllers are also available to control the temperature of the water to what you want.
